Many a times, we imagine beautiful scene, a city that is peaceful, cool, where you can make life beautiful and admirable, living in beautiful home, built in serene environment with fresh air, well furnished with 21st century gadgets.
Does that city in your imagination exist at all? I doubt if it exists. We wish it could but how can we make it happen in this world of war. You work each day to make life easy and simple but the rigour, especially in this side of the world made things complex as days go by.
Lagos like London. That is what is running in the mind of those that only know the name but hasn't been to the State. The most popular state in the whole of Africa, centre of business but local and international. Every village boy if not adult that hasn't been to Lagos dream to be there before they died, meanwhile, Lagos is not Paris, and Paris this day is not as people cherished her in time pass. Lagos like London in our imagination but in reality, Lagos is where you take your struggling into phase two or else, you will leave the city back to your village with nothing.
Beautiful people in the beautiful street of Lagos everywhere, displaying beautiful scene but living in slum. Yes, a whole family living in a room, in face me and slap you building with only one toilet, you queue before you poo. Likewise, you see bad people, pickpocket, robbers, smokers, kidnappers, ritualist, prostitute etc. They are in Lagos doing their heinous job of victimisation of innocent people.
If you stuck in Lagos traffic, you will hate yourself. In most cases, the name “Lagos" is sweeter than the activities going on in the city. People running up and down everyday to make an end meet. In Lagos, no food for lazy man and woman. That's why some under the guise of disability turned themselves to beggars even in hold up.
Unlike London, though no lazy people there but things is not as easy as you always imagined what the city is. If you're not lazy, you can easily make it legitimately over there within short period of time. In life, success can easily be imagined than reality but hard work is what will make your dream come true.
Dare to dream big to make it in life and stopped imagine that Lagos is like London.
